My undergraduate degree is in Radio, TV, and the Internet, and I have been a screenwriter for the last six years. My main experience is creative writing for the screen and writing project proposals for cultural funding opportunities. Hi! My name is Alexandrea, but you can call me Alyx. I鈥檓 a Master鈥檚 student studying English with a concentration in Science Fiction and Fantasy. I earned my Bachelor鈥檚 in English at FAU, graduating Magna Cum Laude and with double honors in Creative Writing and English. During my undergraduate studies, I also served as editor-in-chief of Coastlines, our undergraduate literary arts journal.

My writing strengths lie in brainstorming, argument development, and grammar assessment. I am most familiar with MLA format citations, but I am more than happy to work with students in any other format. My areas of interest include speculative fiction, postcolonialism, Afrofantasy, and Afrofuturism. I also have experience in business writing, having worked in digital marketing for the last decade.听

Hey! I鈥檓 Danielle Patino (she/her), a first-year MFA fiction student at 麻豆精品视频. I was born and raised on Long Island, NY, but I鈥檝e just moved to Florida to grow my professionalism as a GTA instructor and writing consultant. I got my BA in Creative Writing (with a minor in Religion) and my MA in Adolescent English Education at Hunter College in NYC. My areas of focus are creative writing and literary analysis, both of which I practice in my free time and post to my literature and writing blog storybeforeslumber.com. My favorite novels are Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, East of Eden by John Steinbeck, and The Witching Hour by Anne Rice. Elaine Barron Mendelow is the founding director of Heritage Biography International (HBI), a company that enables people to tell their life stories in the form of a recorded video narrative. She has published a book entitled Narrating Diaspora: A Study of Five Contemporary Jewish Auto/Biographies. She has extensive tutoring experience in varied subject areas, running the gamut from extremely reluctant to very eager writers. Hello, my name is Ellis! I'm a current Ph.D. student and a graduate teaching assistant spending my time in both the History department and UCEW. I am originally from Newcastle in the UK, and graduated in 2023 from Northumbria University with a B.A. in American Studies. In 2023, I moved across seas to achieve my M.A. in History while working as a GTA in FAU鈥檚 History department from which I graduated in 2025.

During my academic career so far, I have worked as an Instructor of History and writing tutor at other institutions, as well as a research assistant, navigating various archives and databases to acquire information. As a tutor, I have helped students not only with U.S. History related tasks, but also with a variety of World History, English, Psychology, U.S. Government, Sociology and Art History courses, as well as personal statements, scholarship letters and resumes. As I am a historian at heart, I am well versed in Chicago Style formatting and citations, but can also help you with APA and MLA. My decades of experience teaching ENC 1101, ENC 1102, Advanced Composition, Creative Writing, and Literature have taught me that everyone can overcome 鈥渂lank page syndrome鈥 and writing anxiety. 鈥淚 think; therefore I write.鈥 One of my favorite challenges is helping students develop essays through prewriting, using simple questioning and relaxed conversation, erasing the anxiety that often blocks the writing process.
