Pay plans
鶹ƷƵ uses formal pay plans to administer compensation for staff positions in a structured, equitable, and compliant manner. Pay plans define pay grades and salary or hourly ranges that are used to support position establishment, classification, and compensation review activities.
Pay plans are applied on a position basis, meaning each position is assigned to a pay plan and pay grade based on its duties, responsibilities, and scope.
Administrative, Managerial, and Professional (AMP) Pay Plan
AMP positions are assigned to pay grades, and each grade has an associated:
- Minimum salary
- Midpoint
- Maximum salary
These salary ranges are used to support:
- Position establishment
- Reclassification review
- Salary analysis and internal equity considerations
Placement within a pay grade and salary range is influenced by multiple factors, including position duties, required qualifications, market conditions, and available funding. Assignment to an AMP pay grade does not guarantee placement at any specific point within the range.
Support Personnel (SP) Pay Plan
The Support Personnel (SP) Pay Plan applies to positions that perform operational, clerical, technical, skilled, or service‑based functions in support of university programs and services.
SP positions are assigned:
- A class code
- A pay grade
- An hourly minimum and hourly maximum rate
SP pay plan ranges are used to ensure consistent compensation practices and compliance with wage and hour requirements, including the . Most SP positions are designated as non‑exempt and are eligible for overtime when applicable.
