- An interactive web survey that allows you to enter information about your drinking patterns and receive personalized feedback about your use of alcohol. The assessment takes about 10 minutes to complete, is self-guided, and requires no face-to-face contact time with a counselor or administrator.

Counseling and Psychological Services: BASICS

- CAPS offers consultations for students who wish to explore their use in a judgment-free environment. These sessions are called Brief Alcohol Screening and Intervention for College Students (BASICS) and Cannabis Screening and Intervention for College Students (CASICS). - An interactive online program designed to reduce the negative consequences of alcohol amongst students. All incoming first year, transfer, second bachelor's and graduate students are required to complete this program during their first month at Florida Atlantic.

Tobacco-Free Campus Policy

- Beginning Jan. 1, 2015, Florida Atlantic implemented a tobacco-free policy in an effort to create a healthier environment for all students, faculty, employees, vendors and visitors at Florida Atlantic. The policy is in effect for all indoor spaces, outdoor locations and within cars on all �鶹��Ʒ��Ƶcampuses. To get additional information on the policy, click here.

  - Smokeless Tobacco
  - All pipes, Bongs, Bowls, & Hookahs
  - e-cigarettes, Vapes, Blu, Hookah Pens, Vape Pens

Why Tobacco Free?

- Smoking has been identified as the number one preventable disease and cause of death in the U.S. and is responsible for over $193 billion in yearly medical expenses and lost productivity. This policy was put in place to ensure that our university remains ahead of the current trends in higher education while protecting the health of all of our students.
- Universities moving to become Tobacco-Free Campuses have spread across the country. At the present time there are more than 1300 universities and colleges that have gone smoke-free. Approximately 69% of those institutions are tobacco-free (no tobacco products, e-cigarettes, cigars, hookah, snuff, chewing tobacco). This includes 23 universities and colleges in Florida (including UF, FSU, UCF, FIU, UNF, USF, and NSU).

Report A Violation

- Together we can make our Florida Atlantic campus a healthier and safer place to study, work, and live. All members of the �鶹��Ʒ��Ƶcommunity can help with enforcement of the Tobacco Free Policy: If you observe an individual who is violating the Tobacco Free Policy, you can nicely inform that individual that we are proud to be a Smoke/Tobacco Free Campus and to cease use of the product. If you have a resource card on hand, share it with them. If they refuse to cease smoking and/or continue to use the tobacco product, walk away. Do not get into a confrontational situation. Utilize the online site to report the day, time, and location of the incident, and who you think was involved; student, faculty, staff, or visitor.

Other Drugs ��

Research shows that drug use among college students often includes the misuse of over-the-counter (OTC) drugs as well as prescription drugs. Reasons for use are typically centered on self-medication, performance enhancement, and coping with stress. If you find yourself, or friends, misusing prescription or OTC drugs, especially for any of the reasons listed, these resources can be valuable for you.

- OCHP offers students several resources to help them mentally and emotionally thrive, including the stress oasis and biofeedback assisted relaxation.

- CTL provides tutoring, study help, and academic support for students who need a little extra help with their classes.
