Did you know you may be able to earn a master's degree while completing your doctoral program? Known as a Master's Along the Way (MALW) or Master's en Passant, this option allows eligible doctoral students in select programs to earn a master's degree in their field of study while completing the doctorate.

To be awarded a MALW degree, students must complete 30 unique credit hours that apply to the master's degree requirements. Credit hours that were previously used to earn another degree may not be applied toward the MALW. ÌýStudents should also be aware that university policy does not permit the same credit hours to be counted toward more than two degrees.

If you are currently enrolled in an eligible doctoral program at Â鶹¾«Æ·ÊÓƵ, please consult your academic advisor to determine whether the Master's Along the Way option is available to you.

The MALW must have 30 unique credit hours, and transfer courses should be counted toward both the PhD and the Master’s Along the Way.Ìý
